GOALS: The goal of Law Students Writing Competition is to encourage and reward law student writings on business and corporate law subjects. The Competition is designed to attract students to the business and corporate law practice. Students will have their research work published at bogalaw journal and the winner will be given the opportunity for an internship at Boga & Associates.
WHO MAY ENTER: Open to any senior law student who is currently attending studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana.
ESSAYS: Entrants must submit an original article, on a current topic dealing with business and corporate law.
SPECIFICATIONS: Essays must be submitted electronically as an attachment to an email message addressed to info@bogalawjournal.com with the subject line, “Writing Competition Entry”. Submissions to bogalaw journal are subject to several levels of review by the editorial board.
Submission format:
(i) First page: Topic, Author, Short Bio (150 words) & e-mail address.
(ii) Key words & short intro/abstract. Article.
Notes:
Footnotes should be used carefully, and only for explanatory information and should be marked clearly in the text in numeric order after a point of punctuation.
Quotations: Chicago-Style:
Citation should be followed by the authors. The bibliography should only contain sources cited in the text.

POSSIBLE TOPICS
- Industrial/Intellectual Property – court cases; Counterfeiting actions
- Public Procurement/Concessions/PPP – recent developments/projects
- Energy: renewable energy/recent developments/policy measures/new auctions/disputes (Energy Community/Tribunals)
- Tax law/regime/policy measures
- Business against corruption: Albanian perspective; How can business be involved in the ongoing justice reform
- Competition law – current cases/investigation by the competition authority
- “Modern media” (social media, online media) – current regulation & proposed amendments (alignment with EU Directive) / copyright laws
- Applying contract law.
SUBMISSION: Entries must be submitted electronically in PDF format, as an attachment to an email message to info@bogalawjournal.com with the subject line “Writing Competition Entry”.
DEADLINE: Entries must be received no later than March 20, 2020.
JUDGING: The essays will be judged based on research and analysis, choice of topic, writing style, and originality. The winner will be selected in April 2020.
AWARDS: The winner will be given the opportunity for an internship at Boga & Associates. The winner will also be announced on www.bogalawjournal.com website and its related social media channels.
GRANT OF RIGHTS: By entering, the participants grant to Boga & Associates and bogalaw journal the following rights: (1) the non-exclusive right, to use, transcribe, publish, reproduce, distribute (as part of Boga & Associates and bogalaw journal publications) or display the entry, alone or in conjunction with other materials; (2) the right to edit the essay to conform to the publication’s standards of style, technical requirements, language, grammar and punctuation, provided the meaning of the essay is not materially altered; and (3) the non-exclusive right to use the participants’ names, winners’ names and likeness in connection with the essay or this Writing Competition. Additionally, the entrants agree in giving Boga & Associates and bogalaw journal the publication rights enumerated above and the right to use the articles for any other purpose related to bogalaw journal mission.
ODDS OF WINNING: Chances of winning will vary depending on the number and quality of entries. However, Boga & Associates reserves the right not to award any prize if the editorial board determines that no entries are sufficiently qualitative.
RESTRICTIONS: Each entry shall be the original work of a single individual. Jointly authored writings are not acceptable.
